		<description>The current COBRA laws say that a person is not eligible for COBRA insurance if they were &quot;terminated for gross misconduct,&quot; but the exact definition of &quot;gross misconduct&quot; has never been tested in court. As a result, an individual who has been fired (as opposed to laid off) is eligible for COBRA insurance, assuming all of the other qualifications for eligibility have been satisfied.

Shorter answer: if you&#039;ve been fired, you can still get COBRA.</description>
